Best free online card games – Part 1

One of my favorite past times is playing cards. In these days and times, it can be difficult to get people together to be able to play cards. The world has become fast paced. I have learned to use the Internet to be able to get my card “fix”.

I will compile a list of the web-sites I visit to play cards. Some of these games are against the computer, but the majority are against other players across the world. These sites usually allow you to chat with these other players too.

I have always had a gambler side to me. I love to play poker and blackjack. There are very many web-sites that have poker. On the sites that allow you to gamble, most have free-play also. I frequent some of those sites. Two of those sites that have free and pay play are Poker Stars.com and Bo dog.com. They have all the poker games from Texas hold-em to Omaha hi-lo. I also have another poker site I visit that has a twist. It is completely free and you can build your chips to buy a house. You can also play the stock market, have a bank account, and many other additives besides poker. That web-site is: http://pokerrpg.com/

If poker isn’t your cup of tea, I also have another site that has many card games, board games, puzzles, etc…I have played such games as hearts, solitaire, mah jong, and yahtzee. Of course you must register with a valid e-mail address, but the games are completely free. That web-site is: http://www.us.zylom.com/

At all of these sites you can play for money too. Please be very careful if you do. Take it from someone who knows, gambling doesn’t pay. Very few people come out ahead by gambling. If you feel you want to try that side of the card world, please visit this web-site first; it could help you a lot: http://www.pokerstrategy.com/#

Well, it’s Saturday night and no one is home. There is nothing to do. Just sign on to your Internet and play cards with the thousands of other people out there wanting to do the same. They are lonely too. Have a good chat, make some new friends, and play cards. Remember though, have fun but play in a responsible way.

I think I will run along now and go play some free poker with the fellas at this new web-site I just found; it is: PurePlay.com.

Basics of online poker – Part 10

While doing some paid freelance article writing, I learned about the phenomenon of how many people play poker online. It amazed me really, but not only that, I had to try it. I knew all of the poker sites had play money sections. I felt I could get a feel for it without breaking the bank. Trust me, I am not a gambler. Even losing two dollars once a year on a horse race is enough to keep me away from betting.

But something about playing poker online got me in. So I signed up, downloaded and chalked up my play money balance. Of course knowing that I could just go to the bank and get some more meant I played in a somewhat carefree manner. But it certainly did feel great when I won. I could immediately see how someone could get hooked on playing at an online poker site. But I could also see how careful administrations and patience could see some nice sums build up.

Which brings a dilemma in itself. As with all legalized adult ‘fun’, used responsibly this cold be entertaining and profitable. But overuse would surely ruin lives. Where do we draw the line on society? On the up side, playing online poker is private, anonymous, and for the most part a non-judgmental environment. You can hoot and holler, laugh and do all the things you probably shouldn’t do if you play live. But you are time so fast and smart decisions must be made.

On the down side poker online is private, anonymous, and for the most part in a non-judgmental environment. This means there is no one there to warn you may have gone over the limit. No people to face and really it’s hard to get caught playing if your shouldn’t be. So again this comes back to whether you have an addictive personality. If you are prone to go overboard or have had gambling problems in the past, do not tempt yourself here.

If you are like me and make you $10.00 last forever on the 2c tables, then it is fun. For those who put time into it, have a reasonable size bankroll to get them started and participate in online poker tournaments, it can be profitable. Many are making their daily living from playing poker. but how do you make sure you can stick with playing online poker for fun, and not get caught up and overspend?

1. Set limits-daily spend, table spend and profit limits. Decide how much you are comfortable losing. This is a limit you never go over, especially at first. If you play the 1c/2c tables then decide how much you will take to that table, they do have a minimum and maximum limit on some. Decide

Evaluating online poker websites – Part 3

Many online poker sites seem to be legit and they provide lots of tables and have lots of players online all the time. However, this does not mean that the site is not a scam, and you have to look at other features of a site to evaluate it other than the number of players and tables.

It is hard but not impossible to attract a large number of players to an online poker site, but there are hidden scams in some sites which need to be brought up so that you only play on legit sites which are not scams.

Here are some of the things you can evaluate the poker site:

* Professionalism: A site if professional if their e-mails are not written in broken English; sends e-mails occasionally explaining updates, congratulatory e-mails, hosted by a paid domain, etc. A professional site does not necessarily mean a great site, but at least they are trying to make an effort to engage with players in a professional manner. Fast responses of support center also show that the site has sufficient funds to hire professionals. Look for great web design, software design, and customer support for professionalism.

* Integrity: A poker site is only legit if it has a certificate from a gambling association verifying the results of the random number generator. The random number generator is the core of a poker site and is one of the biggest issues facing online sites today. The site you plan on might is rigged if they don’t have certificates proving their integrity. Do not fall into the trap of site which is deliberately giving a streak of bad luck.

* Security: Is the poker site safe to play on? The security depends on the types of players who play and how well your account is protected against hackers. This is hard to evaluate until you get into some sort of a situation where you get to test the site system. The best way to check security is to search on poker forums for site reviews. This way you will be able to learn from other’s mistakes. Recently, there have been cases of poker bots entering poker tables and a few cases where the player was able to see hole cards of everyone on the table. I would personally avoid any of the sites where incidents like this occur because it shows that the site had loop holes in the security and someone was able to go through it and once they go through it, they can do it again.

* Fast withdrawals: All sites allow you to deposit money within a few hours, but are they the same for withdrawing? Some sites like to scam players by asking for personal identifications while withdrawing to make sure that they get fed up and quit withdrawing. When personal identification is required for security purposes then it should be asked for when a player is depositing and withdrawing funds; but why some sites only ask for identity while withdrawing bothers me.

Any site which has a lot of players, sufficient tables, uses professional language, has fast support responses, has certificates proving integrity, have no incidents of security bypass, update regularly and have fast withdrawals are sites which I would play on.

Online poker is a different world of poker where there are many who play for entertainment, and many who use programs to get the most advantage. Playing poker online and on the internet is a whole lot different.

The basics of online poker:

* Programs: First of all, in online poker players have the option to use certain programs to gain advantage over players who don’t have the programs. Some sites have banned the use of such programs, but there are still a lot of other software programs which are allowed and are used frequently by players. This is important to keep in mind when you are playing poker. Your opponent might have information about you on thousands of hands, your profit/loss which are almost always accurate. If you are an experienced player, getting this type of information gives you an absolute advantage and reads which are dead on. Get the latest programs to gain advantage! This is not considered cheating.

* Multi-tabling: To make profit in the online poker world, you must learn how to multi table. Since the action is so fast, you will get bored playing on one table. Boredom is one of the major reasons why people get into too many pots. But if you are playing 4-8 tables at once, you will not be bored. Learn how to multi-table as soon as you start making profits with one table. This increases hourly rate in most cases and is fun to do. If you cannot handle 4-8 tables, then start with one and build up gradually. Do not overwhelm yourself.

Comparing online poker and traditional poker – Part 12

Comparing in-person games against online provides several key differences. First off, look at why you are playing cards. If you are doing it purely for the financial potential, you may be missing a large part of the experience. Sharing jokes and stories with one another isn’t common online since most people either have trouble alternating between the mouse and keyboard, aren’t good typists, or have turned off chat.

There are some great experiences in the world, and poker night with your buddies is one of them. The comradarie is, in my opinion, a vital reason to play in-person.

That being said, don’t ignore the potential of an online card game- just remember there are some important differences. Online, not everyone wants to communicate with you and you must remember that reading a sentence isn’t the same as hearing someone’s tone if they speak the sentence. Try not to take offense at something someone says. Be careful if you do like to speak with people that you don’t give out too much personal information and you pay attention to the gameplay so that an entire table isn’t waiting on you every go-round.

The mechanics of poker change slightly when playing online, however. Without facial expressions or slips of the tongue the only way to guess about someone’s hand is whether or not they pause before betting. Also, since the computer randomly generates cards that come up, it makes the odds slightly different.

While both ways are enjoyable, I still think that it’s much more enjoyable to play a poker game in person rather than online.
