Poker Sit and Go Strategy – Become a Profitable Player Overnight!

If you want to earn profit with poker games in the shortest amount of time possible, your best bet would be to play at Sit and Go games, which are more easily managed because they have a distinct beginning, middle, and end. The fact that Sit and Go games are softer or require less depth in playing styles means it is possible for you to see a reasonable profit if you can play appropriately, and can multi-table as well as able to resist being too emotional in playing. Additionally, you need to employ some basic Poker Sit and Go Strategy, such as the following:

A good Poker Sit and Go Strategy starts early on, before even joining a table. You need to first consider whether the risk versus reward ratio of the game needs you to play aggressively or conservatively. For example, if the blinds were pretty low during the start, you would be wasting your “secret weapon” by bluffing early. During early stages, majority of your opponents are more aggressive and tend to gamble a lot, particularly because they don’t feel comfortable until they add a notch to their list of double-ups. With low starting blinds, it would be a good poker sit and go strategy to play a little further back and let them unleash all of their best hands. You will get rewarded just for surviving, anyway. If you wait until your opponents are fewer and the blinds are higher, your strong hand and aggressiveness will be more effective and will have more rewarding effects.

When the sites have become tighter, another good poker sit and go strategy you can use is called the Continuation Bet, which is when you immediately make a bet after the flop that gets dealt after you’ve raised the hand pre-flop. This puts you in control of the hand, and by raising the flop, your opponents tend to check to you. Betting at this point, usually between half or the full size of the pot will make your opponents put you on a bigger hand or a bigger pocket pair. When the board finally comes out with 3 rags, or if your opponents only got a fraction of the flop, and are immediately faced with another bet from one of the preflop raisers that followed suit, they tend to be scared and just throw their hand away.

The good thing about Sit and Go poker games is that they don’t require a large amount of time investment, which means you can earn a good amount of profit merely by playing a game here and there and quitting once you’ve gone past break even. More importantly, don’t forget to have fun while you are at it. The fast pace of Sit and Go poker makes it appealing even without money involved, which means the addition of profit allows you the luxury of earning money while playing and having fun. Using poker sit and go strategy is not that time consuming and will only require minimal effort in exchange for consistent profits.

Haggling in Bangkok

Bargaining in Bangkok
Even if you consider yourself and expert on bargaining on other countries, you might find youself having a hard time getting a deal in Thailand. Aggressive styles that fare well in Delhi will not fare so well in Bangkok. The greatest compliment you can say to a native of Thailand about an activity is calling it fun, or sanuk. Haggling also follows the same rules. The peoples of Thailand love to joke and tease, so treat every bargaining as a game. But don’t take it too far, since ‘losing face’ is also important to the natives of Bangkok to be sure to stay respectful and pleasant during any haggling.

When you enter a store, look and smile at the owner, acknowledge that he/she is there. If something catches your eye, quietly and politely ask for the price (A deal is more likely is if you are polite and the entire shop don’t know about it.) Then counteroffer just below what you want. Don’t go too low, generally anything under 30% can be seen as an insult, since sellers will price their wares in a range that seems fair to them.

If a counter-counter offer is still too high, give another big smile and ask “Can you discount it a little more?” If the answer is still no, say thank you and walk away. If you don’t get called back, the price wasn’t negotiable and perhaps 300B for the item wasn’t a bad deal after all.

Traveling the canals of Bangkok

in the past the Krung Thep was known as the Venice of the East, but since then many of the cancels that once made this waterway unique have been paved over. Several canals, or Klongs remain, and traveling among these is one of the attraction of Bangkok. Over the last ten years these have gradually been cleaned up to introduce more travelers to the city, with the water no longer thick and black. In the magnificent long tail boats that cruise down the rivers have two advantages. Firstly you beat the heavy traffic of the roads. Secondly you get to see the people of Bangkok, with its houses on stilts.

A great introduction to the canals, and the entire of Bangkok, is a Chao Phraya tourist Boat day pass. An absolute bargain at B70 (1.17 GBP) it lets you ride on their boats for an entire day. These boats also offer you the advantage of running English commentary while going from place to place, including Historical place of interest and how to visit them on land. Maps and booklets of the river are included, which can be helpful for the explorer traveler. there are many piers along the river, and you can gt on and off whenever you wish with the day pass.

A more expensive option is to hire a private boat to guide you through the cannels of Bangkok, and experience usually lasting 2 hours stopping at various places. The private boats cost on average B600 (9.49 GPB)

Poker Strategy for Limit Shorthand

While playing poker, players use lots of tactics in order to give a false impression that they have good hands than their opponents. There are also situations in the middle of a limit shorthand game when you have to risk certain chances to get better strategies and actions to win the hand. In a preflop situation you have realize that you have deal a pocket pair and you have to think that your pot is large lest you have a small one. When the player is in a multiway pot the pocket pair might work no matter it is one less than seven. You should check to enter the flop cheap when you are in a blind position and other players has called the big blind. However, when the player is on the button and before him there are one raise and a fold, then the best possible thing for him is to force the blinds by re-raising. When the player has get on the flop he has to do just one thing out of the two options; fold when didn’t hit or continue when hit.

While you are in a shorthand game, you might not want to use bluff on the flop but could use bluffing when you are up against one or two players’ tops. In such cases you could simply bluff as you don’t have anything because of a weird flop and as few players are involved too have nothing. Thus you can go ahead with it. In case they call you then thin whether to go or not. You have to analyze the odds for a draw and if they are also bluffing you should think of your chances for the plot. It would be better when you have low cards, you should think of check or sometimes folding it as they might have better kicker than you.

There are also some situations when the player in a shorthand game should do never like going for a draw when having just an Ace. In such situation others might have a pocket pair or better kicker than yours and the result could your loss. The best thing a player could do is to play within his bankroll. It takes a long time to win in such games and that’s why you could not risk losing all your money in a single hand and then nothing to play with in the next round. It is also a big mistake to play cards in shorthand games. You should think of different strategies that could be used here and paying attention to the game is one out of such strategies.

The best starting hands in Texas holdem poker – Part 2

Beginners will often first seek to learn the ‘best’ starting hands for Texas holdem. Having strict starting hand requirements will give you a base to build upon, but can be very restricting to growth as a player. The importance of your starting hands goes down in value as your experience in Texas Holdem increases.

In fixed-limit holdem, starting hand requirements are extremely important but this is not so much the case in no-limit holdem. Fewer and fewer players play limit holdem these days and virtually all new players go straight to the World Series Main Event game ; No-Limit Holdem. This being the case, let us focus on no-limit starting hands for the beginning player.

Almost any two starting cards have value in different situations but the beginning player will get him/herself into a lot of trouble after the flop unless they play a select few hands preflop and know what to do with them after the flop hits.

For tournament poker, Dan Harrington’s “Harrington on Holdem Volume 1″ outlines what cards to play in what positions and relative to the action that precedes your turn. A few online resources have even made hand-charts based on Harrington’s book which will guide you through every stage of a multi-table tournament.

For ring (cash) poker at a full table of nine or ten. A beginning player can profit by playing the following hands.

>>All Pocket Pairs (AA-22)

>>AK, suited or unsuited

>>AQ, suited or unsuited

>>KQ suited

>>AJ suited

Granted this is a narrow range of hands but the idea is to keep the new player out of trouble.

AA and KK, play aggressively from any position. Ideally try to get all the money in preflop. Pocket pairs in general should be played for set value only. No set – no bet. If you end up with an overpair to the board, be cautious. AK can be played aggressively preflop and on the flop against one opponent. AQ KQ and AJ should raise in late position unless facing a raise, in which case fold.

The suggestions here will create a robotic, unthinking style of play. This is all that can be expected using starting hands as a basis for your play. Poker is a wonderfully complex game with many many layers of thought and strategy. If you just want to make a few quid at the micro/low stakes then now you can do so. If however you want to improve your game and get more enjoyment from it, then I recommend studying and practising all aspects of the game instead of focusing too much on starting hands.

Before You Enroll in a Poker Tournament

A way too involvement in a poker tournament might not be possible always occasionally one might want to take an off from these games and be back after a refreshing break. Well, when you are back from your break and are considering a visit back to the poker tournament, then you will have to pay a close attention to the registered contestants for the poker tournament and definitely you ought not to start with money before you have retested you hand in a free roll, at least a couple of games over again to feel in touch with the game after your break to avoid mistakes you can make after a break.

There is going to be a massive difference between the televised poker tournament and a televised poker tournament. Celebrity approaches are different from what you will be able to make when you are playing at it. A poker tournament can be anything from a:-

  • Freeroll tournament
  • Rebuy tournament
  • Multi-table tournament
  • Sit and go tournament
  • Rebuy tournament etcetera.

Before you enroll in a poker tournament be sure to railbird a few events from there and make notes to identify the nature of the opponents in the table. A lack of practice in real money tables is going to be a real minus; however, if you are not playing money then you can well giggle about your mistakes, but if you play for money then you will regret the loss for entering the play without enough experience.

In a poker tournament you better not play mediocre hands unless you are there in the blind so that you will get the flop information without having to make a raise. Solid premium starting hand play is the best way to excel in a poker tournament.

When you have a superior hand in a poker tournament, try not to be too confident about yourself. You need to consider the fact that there can be some other strong drawing hands that are going to improve in the next or immediate next rounds. In cases of a poker tournament where you have a drawing hand if you see that you are already beat; better fold rather than chasing the card for a hand. It might be a miraculous rare luck if you should win this way.

Like in money games you should fold marginal hands or drawing beyond the fourth street. This is very crucial to save enough chips to play with your superior hands.

Want to Hear an Online Poker Strategy That Works?

From the second that you sit down at a table, your opponents will be sizing you up. They will analyze your moves, dissect your bets, and look for your tells.  If you want to have any sustained success playing poker, you must learn how to avoid giving off these signals. Period.  You must also learn how to force other players to fold, even when they “know” they have the best hand.  Make other players “out-think” themselves by staying unpredictable. These are 5 KEY strategies that you MUST employ at the poker table every time you play.

STRATEGY #1: Vary Your Bets

I cannot believe the number of players who want to use the same bet structure over and over again.  If you want to be unpredictable, you must vary your betting and raising patters as much as possible.

STRATEGY #2: Keep Players Out Of Hands

The real mark of a great player is the ability to win dozens of small pots with aggressive play.  Forcing players out of small pots also ensures that your opponents will see fewer of your cards.  Every time that your opponents see your cards, you will become a little bit more predictable. It is key that you play very aggressively to keep yourself shrouded in mystery.

STRATEGY #3: Shift Styles Completely

If you watch poker games closely, the successful players will always be the ones who change gears from aggressive to tight throughout the game.  When you are at a table, it is important that you mix up your betting patters for a given hand…and then switch your overall playing style between loose and tight and loose and tight.

STRATEGY #4: In the Dark Plays

Using “in the dark” plays is a great way to confuse your opponents.  When you play in the dark, it is very hard for your opponents to get a good read on you.  When you make a move in the dark, your opponents will start to rethink their moves.  Remember, since a player’s first instincts are usually right, you want to make your competition second-guess their instincts.

STRATEGY #5: Never Show Your Cards

There are a lot of players who like to reveal their cards when they pull off a good bluff.  It’s usually a big headed gesture from the player  trying to satisfy their own giant ego.  If you’re playing Texas Hold’em to feel better about yourself, then be my guest, show your cards.  When you show your cards, players will start to understand how you behave when you bluff.  No matter how hard you try, you will inevitably develop “playing patterns.”

It doesn’t matter if you’re Doyle Brunson or someone who just started playing poker last week; the habits will form.  These five strategies will give you an EDGE in disguising your habits.
